William's 3rd Birthday Party with Curious George

For William's 3rd birthday party, there was only one theme that would do, Curious George! I started planning almost 3 months before the actual party date, making decorations and do as much preparation before hand that I could.

His cake was homemade, and I got so many compliments on it. The top layer was a rainbow of red blue and yellow, and the bottom layer was rice krispie treat.

The house looked great by the time I was done, we had streamers and paintings guiding the guests all the way to our door. We have had George floating away with his balloons.

Kaelyn even had a birthday outfit made for her, who says the birthday boys sister can't look cute too?

We had nine kids total show up and they all had a blast playing together even though none of them had met before.

He got so many great gifts, lots of Spider man things, roller skates, books puzzles and trucks.

The one activity that I had planned was finger painting for the kids. They each had a canvas that said "Always Curious" and they were supposed to put their hand prints on it, most just covered theirs in paint.

William had a blast, and that is really what matters. Thank you to everyone who sent him a gift, he has loved every one of them.

Before the party guests went home, they were given a book and some banana shaped candy. Guests were asked to bring a book to be donated to a childrens' hospital and since William loves to read, so I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate his birthday.

Little Painters

A couple of days before William's party, I had some paint out for a project.

While I was talking with a friend William snuck two bottles on paint into his room, and he and Kaelyn went crazy!

These was paint everywhere, all over them, the floor, his bed the walls and a bunch of blankets.

They never need an excuse to take a bath, but this time they actually had one.

An hour and a half later, we finally had a clean room, and two clean children again.

Unexpected Fun

We bought a backpack to carry Kaelyn around in when we go on trips because William always ends up walking, which makes Kaelyn want to walk then we are chasing two kids pushing an empty stroller... We've gotten some really strange looks while doing this...

In the box came a strip of accordion cardboard instead of bubbles or anything and immediately the kids saw it as a toy.

They had a blast running back and forth from one end of the house to the other.

Oh to be little and see everything as a toy!

Winter Fun

The weekend of Christmas we get a huge snow storm so we were all excited to get bundled and head out to play. I don't have any pictures but the kids had so much fun. We build a snowman taller than me, so big people were taking selfies with it! By the time I got out there with the camera someone had come and knocked it over though. We went sledding and William had a blast, Kaelyn liked it, but she was more content playing on her own.

My friend from Kentucky Doris came, she lived in England now and was visiting family for Christmas so she stopped for a night at our place. It was so nice to have a little taste of home especially during the holidays.

Curious William's New Room

William's official birthday present from us was a room makeover into a curious George theme.

I've been collecting things for months but my favorite is the sticker of George and the balloons.

Coloring pages with some of William's favorite things were the perfect addition to the room.

When I ordered the big sticker, I found a set of smaller ones and I thought it was the perfect way to add the theme to his new bed as well.

A room designed for William wouldn't be complete without books being involved. Had we been in the states it would have been painted and done up entirely but for here, this is perfect and he loves it, which is what really matters.

Super Pullans!

A run present the kids get were super hero masks and capes.

They have been having so much fun running around chasing each other.

Kaelyn moves so fast everything is a blur!

Christmas 2014

Per the norm, William was up before everyone. He normally just comes straight into our room to wake me up without turning any lights on and this morning was no different. As I laid there talking myself into getting up I saw the light flick on and rushed out so see him gawking at Kaelyn new riding toy. I explained that we had to wait for everyone else to wake up before we could open presents and once I turned a movie on he was happy to oblige and quickly went into his movie coma.

Kaelyn was so excited to see her new riding toy, the neighbor has one and she just loves it so she played with that while William opened 3-4 presents.

William knows just what to do but Kaelyn still either has trouble opening them, or just doesn't really care to do it.

Everyone got new hats from Grandma Webb which is perfect for the cold winters here!

Kaelyn got new babies and a baby carrier and that really just made her day. She spent most of it carrying either the babies or her dog around the house.

William's favorite toy was the Kinetic sand he got. He has played with it almost everyday since then, and so have we. Even the Elders were having a hard time not playing with it when they were over for dinner.

It was a fun filled day playing with new toys and enjoying the things everyone had sent.

Christmas is so much more fun when you have kids and all of their toys to play with, Nick and I got our fair share of playtime in as well.

One unexpected bonus of needing everything to be shipped to us is that we usually have a box or two that gets delayed, therefore extending the present opening time.

William is the only child I know who gets this excited about receiving new clothes.

It was a fantastic year, thank you so everyone who sent presents for everyone. The kids love everything, and we are grateful to you for spoiling our kids for us!
