Being a Mom

.

Sometimes it's just fun to be a mom.

Double Bath Time

We figured Kaelyn was now big enough to take a bath with William, which really simplifies the bath process.

Kaelyn loves having all the room, water and toys to play with.

William loves having someone to play with!

A Much Needed Vacation

My sister Cathy and her daughter Melanie came up to see the kids again before we move, as well as give us a chance to take a much needed vacation.

Melanie brought her Giraffe, so William pulled his big Tiger up and had a blast playing with them.

We stayed in a beautiful old Victorian mansion in Louisville, got massages and went to see Catching Fire, as well as found some of our favorite restaurants we didn't even know they had here in Kentucky.
Thank you so much Cathy and Melanie for making this possible.

New Years Eve

For New Years Eve the youth presidencies decided to plan a live clue party. We got to work planning and preparing. It turned into a wonderful night, we even had balloons drop from the ceiling at midnight.
I would never miss an opportunity to dress up, so I volunteered to be Ms. Peacock. Nick got a new suit jacket and vest for the occasion, and was deemed the game master once we got started.

William Turns Two!

Not quite the huge celebration he would have had, had we been in Utah but we had a great day celebrating William's birthday. I can't believe my little boy is now two! We officially have a toddler.
He was more than happy to help me frost and decorate his cake, and then clean everything off afterwards.

He was very curious about the candles, and with a little help, blew them out.

Even Kaelyn managed to get a little taste of the frosting.
We are so proud of William and how much he has grown over the last year, he is turning into a very smart boy.

Kaelyn's Six Month Checkup

When we took Kaelyn in for her six month checkup, the doctor was still very happy with how she was doing. She had grown 10% in every aspect, weighing 15 lbs 8 oz (10%), 24 1/2 inches long (35%) and a head size of 41.5 cm (20%).

She is sitting up great, eating baby food, holding her own bottles and on her way towards crawling. It is so interesting to compare where she is to where William was at each age, in some aspects she has surpassed him, and not in others.
William loves her, they play together and laugh at each other during car rides. It is so great seeing them become such great friends.

Christmas Morning

We just kept getting boxes of presents in the mail this year!

By the time we got them all out and under the tree, it was certainly full.

This being Kaelyn's first Christmas, it was fun to see her reaction to everything.

William however was more interested in all of the candy that was in the stockings than any of the presents.

Since we are moving, and downsizing, we didn't want to collect a bunch more toys after just giving a couple of boxes away, so most everything they got were clothes. Not the most exciting Christmas for a 2 year old, but we were happy.

A Day He Never Thought Would Come

William was a little skeptical at first, but Nick got a better reaction that he anticipated. However, it didn't take William long to warm up to him again, and he was glad to have his play mate back!

Graduating to Baby Food

Since Kaelyn is now 6 months old, we started giving her rice cereal and baby food.

Like always, she was confused at first, but with a little work she started getting the hang of it.

She now loves eating baby food, and it is so much fun to watch her face every time she gets to try something new.

Dressed Up For Christmas

For their Christmas outfits this year, I had bought William a suit and him and Nick matching ties.

Kaelyn got a pretty new silver and white dress that she looked absolutely perfect in!

Ice Storm

We got a pretty bad ice storm, it rained for two days straight and then froze.

William was so excited to go out and play, the grass had frozen standing up, so every time he stepped it would crunch under his feet.

He got his first real taste of snow, and icicle.

Nick taught him how to make a snow angel and how to slide down the hill.

We had a lot of fun playing outside and enjoying the wonderful winter weather.
