The Start of our Vacation

Monday afternoon we made our way up to Louisville to spend the night in a hotel so we could all sleep in little the day we left for Utah. It was nice and relaxing hanging out in the pool for a bit before grabbing some dinner and heading to bed.
Tuesday morning we left for the airport to start our long day of traveling. We had three flights to take before finally reaching our destination, and the first two went very smoothly. William was great during both of them, playing and talking with everyone around.

Between our second and third flight a big storm system came into Fort Worth Texas which delayed our plane over an addition two hours, on top of the two hour layover we already had. William took it well, and eventually turned into the entertainment for everyone.

We are so proud of William and how well he did on all three planes, but it sure was good to be done, and to our home for the week.

The Secret Life of a Soldier

There is a lot more to being a soldier than most people think about. It's not all shooting guns, running drills and standing in formation.

You get some pretty funny tan lines, including one of your head from your hat.

You learn basic sewing skills from all of the patches that have to be stitched onto uniforms.

And a lot of time is spent cleaning medals, awards and pins that must be worn.

However, as William can attest to, they do give you lots of fun gear to play with, or rob a bank with :)

33 Weeks

Kaelyn
With seven more weeks to go, we are very excited about our upcoming trip to Utah. It will be so wonderful for everyone to see Nick again, and finally meet William. I don't know about Nick, but I am a little nervous about William's first plane ride, especially since he will be woken up so early in order to be there on time. A long day of flying, but it will be completely worth it.

32 Weeks

Only about 8 more weeks to go! Pregnancy is so different when you have experienced it before, and when you have another child to take care of. It is still exciting, but not in the same way. I am finding that I am so busy, some days I go all day without enjoying the pregnancy. Most days I just feel like a whale now.
We have gotten pretty crazy busy around here even though my semester is over and life should be easier. I have just replaced it with other things. I have been officially packing away and sorting through all the boy clothes, finding all the girl clothes and completing the never ending list of things to do before the deployment. We have also been doing a lot of painting, we just finished the kitchen cabinets (pictures coming soon), I just have to hang all of the decorations in the bathroom and the room William will be moving into is next on the list. Time seems to be speeding by us, and many days I wonder if I will ever get even just these few things done, but I will, and if not, oh well.

So Many Hats, So Little Time

William is just like his Momma, he loves hats! Whether it is the ranger cap Grandma and Grandpa bought him last summer,  my floppy sun hat, or Nick's ACU cap.

It seems that more often then not, William is wearing some sort of a hat.

Even if it is a made up hat!

Opening Night at Churchill Downs

Nick's mom came for a visit last week, which gave her a chance to meet William and spend a little time with Nick before he leaves. I also gave us a good excuse to go to the opening night at Churchill Downs!

We just had general admission tickets, which meant that we were aloud most everywhere inside, but nowhere you could actually see the track.

The "betting" room had screens covering one wall, showing the races going on at all of the major tracks. It was so interesting to watch everyone betting on their favorite horses, they were so intense. Each race we would pick which horse we though would win, and I picked right almost every time!

After watching a few races inside, we took a stroll outside to do some people watching. They had people on stilts and of course some very big and crazy hats everywhere.

We got to see the horses that were about to race as they brought them in and lines them up in their numbered stall right  before their race. It was pretty cool to see the beautiful horses so close up.

31 Weeks

It has been so crazy around here the last week and a half, so please excuse my absence. On top of that, the memory card I had been using decided to not work anymore, so there is a gap in my weekly pictures.

I am now at 31 weeks, so this is the home stretch. I am still feeling great, just having some trouble with my big belly getting in the way. It was hot for a little bit, which made me unbelievably tired, but it has cooled down some, which makes me much more productive. Kaelyn is getting very big, and has run out of room. She still doesn't seem to move as much as William did (at least from what I can remember) however she is tough, and her kicks are really starting to hurt. She'll have to be tough with William as a older brother!
I just finished one of my classes today, and should have the other one done by Monday, a great load off of my mind. I got all registered for my next classes, I am taking a short Psychology class this summer and a math class this fall, so I am still on my way, slowly but surely.
