A Trip to the Zoo

We went with some friends to the zoo one beautiful Saturday, and we all had so much fun. William's favorite part were the Gorillas, one came right up to him and William kissed the glass.

This is the second time we have been able to go, but William enjoyed it much more this time, and it will just get better and better every time.

15 Month Checkup

William got his 15 month checkup a little late, but better late than never. He is doing fantastic as always. His speech is better, in some ways still behind (he doesn't say Momma or Papa) but in others he is ahead (he is saying two word phrases). The doctor had no concerns this time, and was very glad to see him improving. With the deployment, regression is common, so we shall see how is doing at his next visit. This time he weighed 23 lbs 9 oz (about the 25%), is 31 inches tall (about the 32%) and his head is 46.9 centimeters (about the 32%). So, he is not as tall and skinny as he was. We love watching him grow and learn every day, he isn't much of a baby anymore, having gained many of the knowledge and skills of a toddler.

28 Weeks

I am definitely starting to feel the affects of being in the third trimester. I am tired all of the time now, and my growing belly is getting in the way more and more. I only have about three weeks left in this semester though, and then I can start sleeping in, and just work on getting everything ready for the arrival of our little Kaelyn.

My visit to the doctors this week confirmed that everything is going fantastically. My glucose test came out great, I have only gained about a total of 9 lbs and my iron is better now then it was four months ago, something that my doctor was so amazed about, I thought she might break into song!

Re-Decorating

Thanks to our tax return, we were able to do something around the house along with getting some new furniture, so now we have enough chairs for everyone!

The main thing we wanted to do was get new windows. Not only were they ugly, but they were the originals from 21 years ago, and after sitting in the sun so long, they were literally falling apart. I was always worried about William somehow getting a piece and trying to eat it.

The other large purchase we were able to make was getting new furniture. We were so grateful for everything that was given to us, but it is so nice to have something that we picked out ourselves.

We are working on many more projects, mostly painting, but our house is finally starting to reflect our style.
More pictures to come!

Walking the Walk

William is starting to get the hang of walking. He gets more confident every day, just standing right back up after he falls over. It is fun to watch him, and see how far he gets each time. He is getting the hang of walking with shoes on as well, since we spend so much time outside, he almost always has his shoes on. Pretty soon, he will be walking everywhere, with us chasing right behind him.

There is Such a Thing as Being too Smart

Everyone says that there is no such thing as being to smart. Well, they clearly did not have an over observant child.

While setting up our new kitchen table, Nick was cutting the boxes open with his knife, William seeing this, rushes into the living room, and comes back with his plastic knife, and starts "cutting" the boxes. Where did he learn this!? We have never told him that is what it was.

He tore the bread bag open while I was cleaning the fridge out one day, I guess he needed a snack! Although he is physically unable to, he knows how to use doorknobs, how to flush the toilet, is figuring out how to put his shoes on, and knows how to unplug and plug back in the vacuum. It is to the point now that I hate doing things in front of him, because the next time I turn around, he's getting into something.

A very good friend of mine always has a story of the latest thing her two year old has done or said. She knows William very well, and always says that he may just give her daughter a run for her money. If that is the case, be ready for some laughs, because I will always have a story to tell.

What is in a name?

We have finally decided on a name, it took some work because we do not have the same taste in names, Nick is super picky but we finally found one to agree on.
Kaelyn Olivia Pullan will be the newest addition to our family this summer, and we can't wait!

Easter

Although this was not William's first Easter, it is the first time he could enjoy some of the things that go along with Easter. I had all the baskets in the living room when he woke up, and he actually had more fun playing with the treats in Nick's rather than his own.

After church we went to a friends house where they had an egg hunt all set up for the kids to do.

It took a little more work to get William to not go straight after the things in the egg, or to leave the rocks alone, but he still had so much fun.

William's First Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday we took William to his very first Easter egg hunt. It was a little windy, but a nice sunny day. The park was very busy with egg hunters, but William loves to watch other kids.

Once we showed him what to do with the eggs after he picked them up, he went to town and ended up getting  6-7.

He had a blast, and even helped carry his basket back to the car, showing off his winnings.

26 Weeks

When I think of how much longer I have left in terms of how much I have to do before this baby comes, it feels like I am almost done. However, when I think about it in terms of how far along I am, it feel like I still have forever. I am still loving being pregnant, especially with Nick home. He carries the groceries in, and moves anything I need moved. Now that I am getting to the point that I would start wearing maternity clothes, I am finding that all the clothes I bought last time are to big. I started out at a smaller size this time than with William, and so nothing is fitting. It is a good thing it is warming up, I think I may just go buy 4-5 dresses and live in those. Jeans are way to much of a hassle!
