My FIrst Cake

Every year our ward holds a cake auction to earn money for girls camp.
I was very excited to make a cake to help out, and since it is Easter weekend, I decided to make an Easter themed cake.
Every step I was so nervous that something would go wrong, but everything worked out perfect.

Not to shabby for my first cake, especially with no training! Now we will just have to wait and see how much it sells for.

A Day at the Park

The week the weather has really warmed out, getting spring fever a friend and I decided to take the kids to the park one day. William had so much fun climbing all the stairs, crawling around and going down the slides. It was a blast to watch him, and he was sure tuckered out and ready for bed by the time we were done.

24 Weeks

This pregnancy is just going along, and going great. I still have people coming up and saying "oh my goodness, I didn't even know you were pregnant! Your hardly showing" It could be because I always have William and/or multiple bags, all that stuff can make a person look pretty small.

It's a....

We are very excited to announce that the next little addition to our family is a little girl! We still do not have any names picked out, in fact we haven't even talked about it. We still have plenty of time however.

She spent the bulk of the ultrasound playing with her feet above her head. It amazed how flexable they are!

23 Weeks

23 Weeks, baby #2
It is hard to believe how quickly this pregnancy is going, and it will start to go even faster! This baby moves so little compared to William, and since I'm not that big yet, sometimes I forget. Nick will come in to find me doing or lifting something that would have better been left for him, but I just don't think about it. Monday we find out what we are having, and I don't know about Nick, but I can't wait. I feel like this one is a girl, but that could just be because that is what everyone is telling me I need to have. Only time will tell.

Feeling More Prepared

Right after Nick left, I set a goal for myself to get four 72 hours kits made up. Although they are not complete, most everything is together. We still need a little more food for each bag, and backpacks to put it all in, but for not we have all of our basic medical supplies, about 24 hours of food along with a few health items seperated into plastic sacks, waiting for their permenant home. I made one for the car, enough for a day or two and have some water stored in there so that no matter where we are, we will have what we need in an emergancy. We are going to go out next month and get MRE's, since they last for ten years, we wont have to worry about rotating the food hardly at all. Although I am still not worried about anything happening, at least now I know that we have what we need if something does come up.

Not Much of a Baby

This last month William has grown leaps and bounds, more by force than his own choice however. I weaned him off of his pacifier and his bottle. You all know the story of the pacifier, but the bottle was actually very simple, he never really whined or cried, just went to bed like nothing had changed.
These came with many good side-effects, no more bottles to wash, no more keeping track of the pacifier but he actually sleeps better. There have been nights and naps that for one reason or another, it was very loud, noises that would have woken him up before but he just slept straight through it. He is working on transitioning to one nap a day, the mom who does homework during his naps thinks this is to early, but I knew that two naps a day would not last forever.
In a couple of months he will be moving from his crib into the toddler bed so that he is use to it before the baby comes. Then, at the end of June, he will be moved downstairs into his big boy room. Lots of changes are in store for our little William.

Getting Organized

William and I have worked very hard these last few weeks at getting the basement all organized to surprise Nick when he gets home. With our expanding family, this room will get used a lot more than it has in the last few months.
We got a desk, so that Nick and I have a place to do our school work.

We got toy bins and a bookshelf to hold all of Williams things (at least till his next birthday!)

I even have my own little craft corner complete with a cabinet to tuck everything away in.
He was such a big helper, and of course had so much fun playing with all of the parts and tools. He is going to be quite the handyman when he gets bigger!

22 Weeks

Today I got to 22 weeks. Just like with William this has been a super easy pregnancy. The baby is moving more and more, so it looks like we'll have another energizer bunny on our hands! Nick gets home this weekend, so I have an ultrasound scheduled for March 11th to find out if it is a boy or girl. Only a week and a half and the suspense will be over!
