The first time

I really love being a Mom. It is so great having someone love you so much, no matter what.
I love that feeling when they rest their head on your shoulder as you are carrying them to bed, or that big smile when you walk into the room.
Children teach us amazing life lessons that no amount of school, or number of books could.
They teach you to love and trust with out question.

They teach you that just because something isn't suppose to be a toy, doesn't mean it can't be, and that it can't be fun!

They also teach you that sometimes, you just need to throw your Cheerios on the floor, then laugh about it.
But one of the things I love most about them, is that they teach you to enjoy everything like it's your first time. This really hit me the other day when Nick was out watering the flowers and I brought William over to feel the water coming out of the garden hose. To him, it was the neatest thing ever, because he had never experienced it before.
We take so many things for granted in our busy days, how beautiful the sun is when it rises and sets, the sounds of the birds chirping outside or the occasional chicken or bunny wandering through your yard.
So tomorrow lets try to be more like them. Enjoy being you, and everything that means. Even if you have to spend a few minutes looking in the mirror telling yourself how wonderful you are, especially to your family.

Enjoy nature and all this world has to offer, the laundry, dishes or checking your email can wait for the unplanned trip outside to see what kind of adventures are waiting.

President Lincoln

Another fun thing we did during my parent's visit was go see the town where our former President was born.
We got to see a replica of the house he was born in, and learned about his life as a boy.

We got to see a memorial built to honor him him, that keeps the house safe. There is a stair leading up to it for every year he lived.

Mammoth Cave

ISO: Bookends for a childs room, I really only need one, so if you only have one from the set, I would still be interested.

Not only were most of the tours sold out by the time we got there, but they were to long and to  much walking so we just went in one cave on a self guided tour.

I was so crazy to see these huge tunnels made almost completely by water, and to think that people use to come down here in the cold everyday to mine salt.

We all had a blast, and learned so much. I was kind of excited to see my first bat, but no such, luck.

Accessorizing

When you live with me, you have to know how to accessorize.

 Whether it is with hats,

necklaces,

Or sun glasses, you always have to look good, and William has that down!

Motorboat

Nick loves to motorboat at William, always bringing a huge smile to his face. After a few weeks of doing this William just decided to try it himself. This brings his love of blowing bubbles to a whole new level, and he couldn't be happier.

6 Months Old

My sweet little boy turned 6 months old this last week. He had a checkup and another round of shots, and he did fantastic. He weighs 15 lbs, 15 oz and is in the 22%. He is 27 inches tall, in the 70%.
As I was washing his size 6 month clothes, I remember thinking back to sorting through them when he was only a month old and thinking that it will be forever before he fits into them, but it wasn't nearly as long as I  though it would be.
He is getting great at sitting up on his own, and has really improved rolling over. I'm going to come into the room one of these days and he will have crawled to the other side! You can tell he really wants to crawl, he just hasn't quite figured it out yet.
Nick and I are both loving watching him learn and grow, and I wouldn't trade being a Mom for anything, especially not to this sweet little boy.
