Parents magazine

About a week ago I entered William into a contest to be on the cover of Parents magazine and I just found out the his picture was chosen to be one of the finalist! They have voting until the 3rd, and I would really appreciate your help. You can vote once a day, so if you could just stop by really quick and vote when you get online to check your email or anything else you need to do, and pass it along to your friends! Thank you everyone.

Sometimes you are just to tired

Being a baby is extremely hard work. All of that playing, learning and growing really just zaps the energy out of you.

Sometimes you just can't stay awake any longer, and just slump over from exhaustion.

Although when you are an adult this would be embarrassing, when you are a baby it is just so darn cute.

The elephant war

William was given this elephant toy, covered in bold colors and fun patters, so I figured he would love it. Turns out, he didn't. In fact, he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. After about a dozen times of putting it in front of him I had just about given up.
One night while I was making dinner, I figured I would give it one more shot. I put it on the tray of his swing and he just stared at it. Lasting three or four minutes, with a completely bored look on his face.
I told him to play with it, showed him his cool ears, and before I turned around he gave me a little smile.

All of a sudden I heard him yell, very surprising after five minutes of silence. I looked back to see the elephant face down, and William wearing a smile that could only say "I am the champion". He had to take it all of the way of course, so his next step was to knock it on the floor, which made him completely satisfied.

Didn't anyone ever tell you it's not polite to talk with fingers in your mouth?

As you all know now, William LOVES to talk. But another one of his favorite things is to put his fingers (sometimes even his whole hand) in his mouth. What makes a favorite thing even better? Doing two of them at once!

Our noisy wiggle worm

When William was only a couple of months old we use to tell everyone that he is the quietest baby we have ever seen, even when he cried, it was quiet. As he has grown though, he has gotten louder and louder. Most days he spends his time talking like it is his last chance, practicing for the day that he says his first word.

Not only has he turned into a talker, but he is even more wiggly than he was (which has always been a lot, that boy likes to move!) I walked into the living room one morning to find him having turned sideways, and gotten his foot stuck in his toy. He is working hard on rolling over, so any day now I might find him on his tummy! Before we know it, he'll be crawling, then walking. I don't know if I'm ready for all of that yet.

Four months

Not to long ago William went in for his four month check up, including another round of shots. He weighed in at 12 pounds, 3 ounces and it doing fantastic! He took his shots like a champ, which probably made Nick think I was over reacting about the last ones.

He is getting stronger by the day, and although he still doesn't enjoy tummy time very much, he can hold himself up for about a minute, so we are making progress.

He is starting to form his own opinions and thoughts about things, after whining about being on the floor, I finally put him in the swing, where he proceeded to stare at his toys on the floor. There is certainly never a dull moment with him around!

New car

A couple of weeks ago while Nick was on his way into training one morning he was rear ended by someone in a truck who, according to Military standards, was drunk.
The bumper was crumpled and the frame for the hood was completely bent, making it extremely difficult to open, and then impossible to close.
Luckily, no one was hurt, but that meant that we had to go car shopping.

So, we started looking, and after a day of driving around and just seeing what everyone had, we went home and did some research on what we thought would be the best and bought this cute little car the next day. It is a 2011 Nissan Versa, and we are loving it! It has tons of space, more than the crossover they gave us to use while we found a car and gets awesome gas mileage.
I would certainly have to say that this was the best car experience we have ever had, and hopefully this will last us plenty of years, so we wont have to do it again.
