Saying goodbye

With all of our things packed up on the truck making their way to Kentucky we stayed our last night at Kim's house to get a little more family time in before we left.
Everyone helped feed him and held him one more time before they had to leave for school.
We are really going to miss them, we have had so much fun doing things together and just spending time with each other.
It was so great having family in Massachusetts, and it will be a hard adjustment not having any here in Kentucky. We can't wait until we get together again in July.

Good bye Massachusetts

This weekend is our last here in Massachusetts. The movers are coming on Monday to pack everything up and load it up on the truck. After Nick's reports to work on Thursday we will be heading out, making our way to Kentucky. We found a cute little three bedroom house to live in, it even has a fenced in yard so we can have our doggies again.
Kim was kind enough to watch William for the day on Saturday so Nick and I could spend some time just the two of us. It has been so fun to have her children around, they are always eager to hold him, talk to him and read him stories. We are going to miss them so much when we go, it's going to be sad to leave.

Welcome home Daddy!

Nick got home last Friday evening, and it is so great to have him back. He was home for a couple of weeks during Christmas, but it's a great feeling this time that he doesn't have to leave again, he home for good. Well, at least a year or so.
He is such a great Dad, I can't help but smile every time he interacts with William. He loves to talk to him and make silly faces at him, always bringing out that cute gummy smile.

They play games together, and Nick was so excited to find out how the swing worked, and that it even has lights and music to go with it. I think he was more excited than William.

He reads William his bedtime story most nights, and always has him feel the pages in any of the touch and feel books.
I love watching their relationship blossom, and I'm so glad to be have such a wonderful husband and father to our son, such a wonderful start to our little family.

Top of his class

Nick took his final test on Monday, and all of his hard work paid off. He is second in his class giving him the title of Distinguished Grad and I couldn't be prouder. He worked very hard these last few months learning everything that he could about the program and what is expected out of it. This could be a huge boost for his career, he will get a letter from his instructors stating how well he did and what an asset he is, to take to Fort Knox with him which could bring upon his next promotion even faster.
He got his orders on Monday, so it is official, we are going to Fort Knox. He has to report on Monday the 25th. He will be home for two weeks working in the recruiters center before we head out. We learned it will take about two weeks, possibly three in order for our things to arrive so we'll be packing up the car with the essentials and driving down. We will hopefully be able to get right into a house, and it will just be like camping for a little while till everything else arrives.

William had his two month checkup this week, and it is confirmed, he is growing like a week. He weighed in at 11 pounds and 1 ounce and 23 1/4 inches long.
The Doctor was extremely impressed with how well he can hold his head up. He is finally able to sit in the mini saucer I bought him, although his arms aren't long enough to reach any of the toys. I don't think he would even know what to do with them is he could.

Countdown time

Nick comes home in less than a week and we are all so excited. After eight long months we will finally be a family again. I've been busy at home trying to get everything organized and ready for the move, tearing the apartment upside down getting rid of everything we don't need or want anymore. Since I'm not working outside the home anymore I've made the little business my mom and I have my new job. I've spent a lot of time getting a website up and going, and working on some new items and ideas for the new direction we are taking. Hopefully this will be a great year and we can really jump start the whole thing.
Nick has been busy preparing for his final test, he's confident that he will pass, but is trying very hard to be top in the class, which could mean a lot for his career. He hopefully will be getting home on Friday afternoon, if not then Saturday morning and he will be home for two weeks working in the local recruiting center before we will be headed to Fort Knox.
